“Our Voice Our Choice” is a Positive Community Norms (PCN) media campaign that is designed to tell a new story of what’s happening in our community.

Most children are making healthy choices, most parents are setting rules and expectations and most community members support efforts to reduce the harmful effects of underage drinking in our community!

The goal of the ”Our Voice Our Choice” campaign is to grow the goodness that already exists in our community!

Local data will be collected each year to get an idea of the actual and perceived norms surrounding underage use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.  The data is then shared with the students, parents and community members through the media campaign, community events, in-school curriculum, student and community presentations, one to one conversations and more.

The data used in our media campaign is from several survey sources including PCN Surveys of Onamia youth and parents, PCN Surveys of Upper Mille Lacs County Adults, and MN Student Surveys of Onamia and Isle youth.
